Re : Circuit boats with reinforced cockpits
Dear Ladies, Dear Sirs,
For F1, F2, F4 and F500 racing the rule 509 regarding the “head clearance” has been updated for season 2018. According to rule 501, these boats now need to be re-measured and checked to certify that they comply with the valid rules before the boats are again being used in racing.
When re-measuring F4 boats to get all required information for entering these data into the digital logbook, many minor safety issues were found. To make sure all boats are safe and comply with the rules, the UIM has trained UIM International Measurers for Circuit cockpit boats and developed an inspection checklist to be used for this purpose. A copy of this completed inspection form must be added into the Digital logbook for F1/F2/F4. The inspection checklist is available on the UIM website at https://www.uimpowerboating.com/Documents/Document/Circuit%20boat%20with%20reinforced%20cockpit%20measurement.pdf and teams can go thru the different points and prepare the boats for measurement.
It is important that these boats are re-measured in good time before entering an international race, especially for F4 boats, since the Digital Logbook shall be introduced also for this boat class.
Please note that the UIM Technical Commissioners do not have time to measure boats on occasion of races and to update measurement certificates/digital logbooks.
