At their meeting of last Friday, 16th March 2018, the UIM Council discussed the impact on the Powerboat Sport of a recent decision taken by the European Commission, calling on the International Skating Union (ISU) to amend their rules which impose severe penalties on athletes participating in competitions not authorized by said International Federation.
As a result of these discussions, the UIM Council decided to suspend temporarily the application of certain provisions contained in the UIM By-Laws and Rulebooks in as far as suspension or other penalties were foreseen for participation in unauthorized/not sanctioned events.
