During the 2018 UIM Mid-term meetings held in Amsterdam it has been brought to the attention of COMINSPORT and COMINTECH that the use of the homologation sheet 463A for Tohatsu M50D2 and 532A for Mercury 50D2 would make most of the P750 engines illegal.
As a result, we wish to inform you that the below derogation has been issued by Fred Hauenstein, COMINSPORT President in collaboration with Mikael Lundblad, COMINTECH President :
“Due to various reasons such as:
– confusion between Tohatsu [and Mercury] 50D engine production changes
– use of blueprinting rules in P-750
– racers’ desire to use the individual homologation files in combination
the inspection of engines to any one homologation file would inevitably lead to a reduction of the number of boats allowed to participate in the 2018 UIM P750 season.
To maintain a viable competition field for the 2018 races, it has been agreed to allow inspectors to use the attached porting dimension sheet titled „Port dimensions combination – June18” for the 2018 season (only).
All engines must conform to these dimensions.”
